In 2021 was a very challenging year due to the associated impacts of COVID-19, including total lockdown of the economy with limited movement of people. This negatively affected the smooth implementation of EMLI planned activities for the year 2021. However, to ensure continuity in EMLI operations amidst COVID-19, the organization resorted to working remotely and virtual engagements with stakeholders.
This report presents key highlights of the implemented activities, achievements, challenges and lessons learnt in 2021 under the five core programmes; 1) Climate Change; 2) Environmental Governance; 3) Ecosystems and Environment Management; 4) Chemicals and Waste; and 5) Livelihood.
