SUMMARY:Amplifying indigenous voices
DESCRIPTION:EMLI and partners intends to support efforts to reduce inequalities of the Indigenous People\, particularly the Batwa by amplifying indigenous voices in the context of Indigenous rights\, governance\, and knowledge systems. This will be through holding district dialogues on equity\, rights and natural resources management with representation of Batwa (including CSO organisations such as United Organisation for Batwa Development in Uganda (UOBDU) and Uplift Rural Poor (URP))\, District Local Government such as the District Community Development Officer\, Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development\, representatives of UWA\, NEMA\, NFA\, District Police Commander\, Magistrate\, among others. \nThe dialogues will broker relationship-building\, cultivate and preserve good relationships and explore options to increase representation of Batwa\, and create inclusive\, empowering work environments to help ensure such indigenous peoples are provided services in a culturally and linguistically accessible manner.
